Interview with Amy Moore~Barefoot Books Distributor
Tell us about yourself:
I have 2 children, my husband is a commercial pilot so he’s gone a lot, I’m the infant/preschool coordinator at my church, I like to read, love to play with my kids
Give us a description of your company: Barefoot Books is an independent publisher of children’s books. They are beautifully illustrated. The stories are diverse with many different cultures and countries represented. All the books are fun, and my children love them.
How long have you been in business? December 2009
How long have you been a Christian & share a little about your faith: I was raised a Christian. After straying a little in college, I met my husband who helped me strengthen my faith. Now I try to always be aware of ways to help my children build a strong faith.
How has your faith in God inspired and helped grow your business? My husbands income is variable, and it has been on the low side for several months. Rather than put my children in daycare, I decided to go with my passion and sell children’s books because I feel that God wants me at home with the kids right now.
What Advice can you give to other moms thinking about starting their own business? Follow your passions because it will show. Don’t sell makeup if you don’t like to wear it. Don’t sell products that are more expensive than what you would buy. You can always do better when you believe in what you are doing.
What are the start up costs and required purchase to stay active: $0 to start, although you probably want to at least buy some stock for demonstration purposes. $0 to stay active, you just have to login to your account at least once every 6 months
Are you willing to allow other Christian moms to contact you if they would like to know more about starting their own business? Yes, via email or they can join my team by clicking on “become an ambassador” at the bottom of my page.
What specials can you offer Moms visiting from ReallyWorkingFromHome.com? If they email me at greatbooks4children[at]gmail.com, I can give them a one time use 10% off code for online orders. If you’d like to make a large order, contact me and I’ll see if I can help further.
