I recently became acquainted with Melinda Emerson through her website: http://melindaemerson.com/ Melinda is known as the Small Biz Lady and hosts a weekly twitter chat for small business owners.

 What is #SmallBizChat?

“It is a weekly interactive talk show on Twitter for small business owners. It takes place every Wednesday from 8-9 pm eastern time.  Participants and guests type answers to questions from the host, using the social media site Twitter. The focus of #SmallBizChat is to end small business failure by helping business owners succeed as they start and grow their small businesses,” says Melinda.

I was very intrigued by all of the helpful information found on Melinda’s site, especially her new book “Become Your Own Boss in 12 months.” I contacted Melinda and was happy to find that the woman behind this organization was a friendly mom with a down-to-earth personality and also a woman of faith!

I’ve been reading her new book the past few weeks and it is fabulous. Truly a comprehensive guide to starting and succeeding at small business!  Some of my favorite quotes from the book:
