Monday’s Mommy Minute ~ Chrissy French

Today’s MMM is brought to us by Chrissy French!

I founded the she-market last summer after doing a number of booths and paying an arm and a leg for them!! I was an independent consultant for the pampered chef and needed new ways to find business. I did a few events that were put on by the city and I paid a ton of money to be put in between an insurance agent and a school district. Don’t get me wrong, I love these events but it was a little hard to be seen in the midst of ALL the other booths and all the other people walking around. I am an idependent business owner so paying the fees was a little hard to stomach as well.

I started thinking to myself, there has got to be an event that is strictly for businesses like mine and all the other independents out there trying to sell a product. So the she-market was born!! My father helped me brainstorm the first event. He helped me think of places that we could hold the she-market, what we should call it, how we should advertise it and everything else.

The first she-market was held last July 25th at Jake’s farm in Loveland. We had a number of booths such as tupperware, partylite, lia sophia, pampered chef, cookie lee, discovery toys just to name a few. Women could come and get information about hosting shows to earn free product, do some shopping, eat some food and just have a girly good time!! The best part about it is that the ladies doing a booth only had to pay $50.00 for their spot! That is a little better than the $360.00 I had paid in the past!! I am able to keep the booth cost down because I do ask the ladies doing a booth to help me get the word out instead of paying so much for advertising.

We also have done a lot of fundraising at the she-market. We do a raffle for prizes earning money for Relay for Life and the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer. I plan on adding a lot more fundraising to future she-markets.

I see a dunk tank in the future. I wanted to make an event that is fun to go to, a good time for woman, a place to get information on businesses and products that they will love, beneficial for woman in business and just something different. It has been the most amazing thing I have ever done and I am so very proud to say it is mine!!
You can check out the fan page here . The web-site is till in the making but it will be here .
I will be doing a wedding/bridal festival very soon so keep checking the page for details.

The Baja fish Co. is always the food vendor and I give away information on the catering at the she-markets. We have a 1962 VW bus that we sell fish tacos out of!! It is very cool so everyone needs to come check it out!!
You can also get more information on the catering at the Baja Fish Co here at or our fan page .

  • Chrissy,

What a fantastic idea! Talk about taking a need and filling it! I love your spirit! This is one of those ideas that I bet many people are scratching their heads and saying “now why didn’t I think of that!” So very glad that you did, and went out and created it!
