Tell us about yourself:  My family currently consists of my husband, myself, and our 5 pets. We are trying to have children, but God has not said ‘Yes’ yet. In the meantime, we keep busy by helping others (including my sister and her baby). When I’m not working, I love to read, write, bake, and sleep.

Give us a description of your company: always B designs offers custom stationery & gifts including invitations, business cards, decorated clipboards, scrabble tile, domino, and bottle cap necklaces, and premade scrapbook albums.

 How long have you been in business? Since July 2008

 How long have you been a Christian & share a little about your faith:  I have been a Christian since I was 16. I was raised in a broken home and did not have the best of examples on my father’s side. I met a friend in 4th grade and became like a part of his family, who were Christians. They helped lead me to Christ and I still keep in touch with them to this day. I have had my moments of less faith than others, but I know that God is there daily. My faith has helped me through numerous down times, including infertility. My faith is what gets me through.

How has your faith in God inspired and helped grow your business?  My husband and I pray together daily, and we always include the business in our prayers. We ask God to lead me in my business decisions, in the way I interact with customers, etc. so that I can present a Godly example. I think this has been key to growing the business, because I am establishing a firm business foundation in Him.

What Advice can you give to other moms thinking about starting their own business? Do your research. Don’t just dive in because you want to sell something and think you’ve got a good product. Learn the rules, follow them, and start your business off on the right foot. I see so many ‘home businesses’ that haven’t filed taxes or don’t have DBA’s and I can’t imagine taking those risks. Also, networking. I think that is so key to any business, especially small ones. I have met some wonderful people via social networks and business organizations. They are great referrals and word of mouth has grown my business far more than any paid ad has.
