I have read several books by this author and was looking forward to beginning “Sixteen Brides.” However, I was quite overwhelmed in the first several chapters. There were too many characters and it was hard to keep up. However, as the story progressed, several characters took center stage and were further developed. I ended up loving this story and had a hard time putting it down.

We’ve heard a lot about the “mail order bride” era, but this story is surprising in many ways. You will thorougly enjoy it once you start keeping the characters straight!
