“…Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.” Deuteronomy 30:19b-20a NIV

Can you hear the voice of God?  That is often difficult in our loud and fast paced society.  Cell phones ringing, MP3 players blasting, High Def TVs blaring…how do I hear from God in the midst of this?  His voice becomes clear when we quiet our lives and pour ourselves into God’s word.  Take the time to get alone with God and listen to his voice.  What does his voice sound like, you might ask.  Will you hear a burning bush speak to you just like Moses did in Bible times?  Will you hear an audible booming voice come out of nowhere?  Probably not.  Memorize his Word so that it will play back in your mind when you need it.  That is how God speaks to us today.  God does whisper to those that are listening!  In John 10:27 Jesus says for us to listen to his voice.  This is how we can know him and follow his leading.

Dear God, I truly want to hear your voice.  Please show me how to quiet my life so that I can know what your voice sounds like.  Help me to hold fast to you and listen for the whispers of your word.  Amen.
